Construction Liability, Accountability & Lawsuits: How Owners can be proactive during a construction project
The recent and tragic events at Florida International University and at the Kakahari Indoor Water Park in Sandusky, OH. illustrate the need for these Owners to have their own construction project management software for all their projects.
Sylvia, the director of construction for the local K-12 school district, always prides herself on having answers when questions are asked. Especially when those questions come from the school board or from a concerned parent or community member.
A customer of ours recently sent me an article about another construction project management software (competitor) that had just closed a big round of funding. The email said, “Steve, why aren’t you doing this? They should be investing in Owner Insite because your product is so much better than theirs!”
This week my team launched even more new features to our project management software that we’re pretty excited about. In fact over the last few months, Owner Insite has quietly launched new features and capabilities that are making us an even more formidable competitor to some of the industries self-proclaimed “best” construction project management software platforms.
Do construction projects need oversight? Yes would be the simple answer but the real question might be much more involved. How much oversight is really needed? What areas should I be reviewing? How in-depth should I really be going? All valid questions that construction team leaders really should be asking.
We have been very blessed to work with some the greatest school district clients over the past several years. Districts like Allen ISD, Dallas ISD, Socorro ISD, Massachusetts School Building Authority and so many other public and private school systems to support them on their renonvation, new construction and bond construction programs.
I recently had a conversation with the Director of Construction for a school district here in Texas. He and his team are facing a mountain of work over the next few years thanks to the recent passage of a school bond.He had been put in contact with us by a colleague from another school district that uses Owner Insite for construction project management software. Despite the high praise and recommendation from our client, I could sense a fair bit of skepticism on his part as we spoke.
